Bulk access control allows administrators and registrars to simultaneously update the roles of multiple accounts. This feature enhances efficiency and reduces repetitive tasks. Here's how to utilize it:
1. Accessing the Feature:
- Ensure you are logged in as an administrator or registrar.
- Navigate to the 'Accounts & Billing' menu and select the 'Accounts' page.
- In the grid, select one or more accounts for which you wish to adjust access controls.
- Once you've made your selections, the 'Batch Actions' command will activate. Click on it to access the bulk access control options.
2. Choosing Actions:
Within the bulk access control tool, you'll find various actions presented as radio buttons:
- Password Reset: Sends a 'Forgot Password' email to the primary email address of the selected accounts, prompting recipients to reset their passwords.
- Lock/Unlock: Toggles the lock status of the selected accounts.
- Suspend/Unsuspend: Toggles the suspension status of the selected accounts.
- Make Historical/Reactivate: Designates selected accounts as historical or reactivates them.
- Assign Roles: Allows you to both assign and remove roles from accounts.
- Remove 2FA: Disables two-factor authentication for the selected accounts.
- Delete Unapproved: Deletes the selected unapproved accounts. Only available if the accounts selected in step 1 include all unapproved accounts.
Note:
- Only one action can be performed at a time.
- The available actions operate as a "smart toggle." For instance, if all selected accounts are locked, the option to lock them won't be presented; you'll instead have the option to unlock them.
3. Confirming Actions:
After choosing an action and selecting the affected accounts, click the corresponding action button to apply the changes. If the operation is successful, the access control tool will automatically close.
4. Important Notes:
- For security, the logged-in account (whether an administrator or registrar) cannot modify its own role permissions. This safeguard ensures that users don't inadvertently compromise their own account.
- Always review your selections carefully before confirming, especially when adjusting roles, to avoid unintended access changes.
